According to one aspect of the present invention, a method of obtaining user information by a set-top box interworking with a basic terminal includes the steps of: (a) obtaining, by the set-top box, at least one sensing data through an embedded sensor embedded in the set-top box or an external Internet of things (IoT) terminal; (b) performing, by the set-top box, (i) a process of generating identification information data with respect to a user detected through the embedded sensor or the external IoT terminal with reference to the at least one sensing data, and (ii) a process of obtaining specific situation information data indicating at least a partial state of a person, an object, and an environment in an interior space to which the set-top box belongs by analyzing the at least one sensing data, and obtaining action information data indicating information of an action item of the basic terminal or an action item of the external IoT terminal, in which the action items are performed by the user and corresponding to the specific situation information data; and (c) mapping, by the set-top box, the specific situation information data and the action information data to the identification information data to record a mapping result as information of the user.
