According to an embodiment of the present invention, a robot toy comprises: an accommodation unit in which a cartridge for robot toys including a predetermined ID recognition unit can be inserted; a connection port electrically connected with the ID recognition unit of the cartridge through a connector of the cartridge when the cartridge is inserted into the accommodation unit; a power supply unit supplying power to the connection port; and a control unit obtaining ID recognition information from a value of the ID recognition unit of the cartridge identified according to the power supply, and controlling operation of the robot toy by using the ID recognition information.
