The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for recording event of a SCADA system. The apparatus includes: a device managing unit configured to output state information data; a state information managing unit configured to store and manage a tag about state information; a normal time screen playing unit configured to continuously play a monitoring screen; a screen display unit configured to display the played screen on a monitor; an event monitoring unit configured to sense whether there is an event by analyzing real time state information and the related tag; an event managing unit configured to manage a background state edition setting value; a background condition collecting unit configured to collect the state information and the related tag; and an event editing unit configured to store a background state. The present invention reads a real time notification event through the collected state information data, edits the background state in the event in accordance with preset background state edition setting except for the real time captured image data of the screen of the monitor viewed to a manager, and provides the background state as additional data, thereby allowing the manager to perform analysis and modeling about the real time notification event.
