A method for evaluating the energy performance of a building using a computer according to embodiments of the present invention may include (a) a step of constructing a database with past energy usage values and building characteristics of a plurality of existing buildings; (B) a step of determining a benchmark based on the probability distribution of the energy usage values of existing buildings; (C) a step of selecting similar buildings having similar building characteristics to an evaluation target building among the existing buildings; (D) a step of acquiring each of dynamic energy performance curves which varies over a past period of time, based on the benchmark, for each of the selected similar buildings and the evaluation target building; and (e) a step of determining the trend of the dynamic energy performance curve of the evaluation target building against the dynamic energy performance curves of the selected similar buildings.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
