NVH CHAIN WITH ALTERNATING INSIDE LINK POSITION TO ENABLE NARROW LACING WITH IMPROVED NVH BEHAVIOR

Narrow chains with alternating inner link positions in a 3 x 1 lacing arrangement provide improved noise-vibration-harshness (NVH) characteristics compared to conventional narrowly-laced chains when used for oil pump drive . The two inner links are offset relative to each other and one of the two inner links is aligned with the two guide plates in the guide column. This chain design is preferably used as an oil pump drive chain or for other auxiliary drives.
