The present invention relates to embossing printing in which a shape such as a character and a pattern is formed in a protruding or recessed manner on the surface of a printing sheet (90). The embossing printing apparatus according to the present invention includes a horizontally reciprocating template (10), a pressing drum (60) having an axis of rotation orthogonal in a planar to the reciprocating path, an engraved sheet (70) disposed in close contact with the pressing drum (60) and having an engraved portion (71), and so on with an embossing portion (91) formed by the printing sheet (90) being pressed between the engraved portion (71) and the template (10). When the pressing drum (60) and the template (10) are pressed in a state where a transfer sheet (79) is additionally stacked on the surface of the engraved sheet (70), the engraved portion (71) reflecting the thickness of the printing sheet (90) is formed and embossing printing precision can be ensured. According to the present invention, the embossing printing apparatus can be given a configuration from which an elastic roller is completely excluded as well as a jacket or a hard roller having an embossed or engraved printing shape.
