A user authentication system using a user authentication pattern and a method for defining a user authentication pattern of the present invention includes: a touch panel to which a touch is input by an object; a memory in which a user authentication pattern input from the touch panel is stored; and a user authentication processor which processes user authentication when a user defines user authentication pattern information without a limitation of passing through a specific point in the touch panel, and a pattern is input thereto. According to the user authentication system using a user authentication pattern and the method for defining user authentication pattern of the present invention, a user can input a pattern without a limitation and to set the pattern as a user authentication pattern because the user can directly input and set a free pattern and does not thereby have to pass through a specific region. In addition, since much various authentication patterns can be formed, it is possible to provide a user authentication system which has strengthened security and can maintain convenience thereof because a user authentication can be formed by only inputting the patterns.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
