The resent invention relates to a high-gloss pearlescent pigment, and more specifically, to a high-gloss pearlescent pigment which is prepared by surface-treating iron oxide on the surface of borosilicate glass, and converting ferric oxide (Fe_2O_3) to ferrous ferric oxide (Fe_3O_4) by using reduction calcination and thus exhibits red, purple, blue and green exterior colors through an optical color effect; to a method of preparing the same; and to a cosmetic composition comprising the same as an effective component. The high-gloss pearlescent pigment of borosilicate, titanium dioxide, and ferrous ferric oxide (Fe_3O_4) according to the present invention exhibits the same colors of red, purple, blue, and green as a regular pearlescent pigment obtained from surface-treating carmine, prussian blue and the like, and can be advantageously used as a high-gloss pearlescent pigment by ameliorating and overcoming the problems that may occur due to pH conditions and interactions with other ingredients in various cosmetic formulation environments, such as discoloration, bleaching, color separation (color bleeding) and spreading inside a formulation. Also, since the high-gloss pearlescent pigment of the present invention is composed of only stable inorganic materials excluding natural or synthetic chemical dyes, the high-gloss pearlescent pigment may be widely prescribed and utilized within the confines of regulations.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
