Disclosed are a method to operate a photo relay replacing a mechanical relay, and a photo relay replacing the mechanical relay. A photo relay device includes: a first relay switch part comprising a first input part, a first NC terminal, a first COM terminal, and a first NO terminal; a second relay switch part comprising a second input part, a second NC terminal, a second COM terminal, and a second NO terminal; a photo transistor part including a plurality of photo transistors formed to change a connection relation with the first NC terminal, the first NC terminal, and the first COM terminal and a connection relation with the second NC terminal, the second NO terminal, and the second COM terminal in accordance with an input signal inputted to the first input part; and an infrared LED part including a plurality of diode-based infrared LEDs for generating infrared rays in accordance with the input signal inputted to the first input unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
