The present invention provides compositions and methods for treating diseases associated with the expression of CD123. The invention also relates to a recombinant cell comprising a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for CD123, a vector encoding the same, and CD123 CAR. The invention also encompasses methods of administering genetically modified cells expressing CAR comprising the CD123 binding domain.
