The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for treating washing water used in a system for re-circulating exhaust gas of a ship and, more specifically, relates to an apparatus and method capable of reducing the capacity and cost of overall treatment facilities through an agglutination process of suspended solids inside the washing water and a separation process of the suspended solids from a hydrocyclone, thus being able to efficiently use a space inside the ship and reduce treatment costs of the washing water. To achieve this, the present invention includes: a receive tank; a buffer tank; a hydrocyclone; and a centrifugal separator.
