LOCATION FINDING SYSTEM FOR MISSING KID AND METHOD THEREOF

The present invention relates to a system for locating a position of a missing child and a method thereof and, more specifically, to a portable terminal-based missing child locating system, which enables a person to easily identify the position of a missing child using a portable terminal carried by anyone and a method thereof. The method of locating a missing child according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) repeatedly receiving, by a portable terminal, a beacon signal from a beacon provided in a childs clothes; (b) after moving the portable terminal, receiving the beacon signal received from the beacon and producing an actual circle indicating a position of the child with a position of the portable terminal after the movement of the portable terminal as the center of the circle based on the received beacon signal; (c) at the reception time point in step (b), producing a virtual circle indicating the predicted position of the child with the position of the portable terminal before the movement of the portable terminal based on the beacon signal received in step (a); and (d) calculating an intersection point between the actual circle and the virtual circle produced in step (b) and step (c). The present invention provides a convenience of locating the child with one portable terminal instead of a plurality of beacon scanners or portable terminals required for triangulation. In addition, it is possible to provide information on the position and movement direction of the child within the communications range of the beacon and provide missing position and direction information even when the child is out of the communication range, such that the child can be easily found.
