The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of an absorbent for treating wastewater using shell powder, which comprises the following steps: adding agarose powder and deionized water to the shell powder to prepare a mixture; inserting the mixture to a vessel after heat treatment and slowly cooling to prepare a gel-like membrane; and crushing the gel-like membrane to produce a filler. The present invention additionally relates to the absorbent for treating wastewater using shell powder manufactured by the method. Therefore, since the adsorbent for treating wastewater can be manufactured by using a large amount of waste oyster shells, environmental pollution such as toxic malodor and unauthorized marine dumping due to the disposal of oyster shells can be greatly reduced.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
