The present invention relates to a method for virtual machine migration in a software defined network (SDN) based virtual network environment, and a controller thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method for virtual machine migration comprises: a step of reproducing an original flow with respect to an original virtual machine of a migration source server by an SDN controller in an SDN based virtual network environment; and a step of providing, by the SDN controller, a continuous service to a virtual machine user even when migration is executed by simultaneously reflecting the original flow and a reproduced flow to a network while executing virtual machine migration.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
