Provided is a method for producing lube base oil from unconverted oil, comprising the following steps: separating unconverted oil of hydrogenization and decomposition of hydrocarbon oil by viscosity; removing polynuclear aromatics from unconverted oil having the boiling oil of 450°C or higher and kinematic viscosity (100°C) of 6.4 cSt in the separated unconverted oil through an adsorption process using an adsorbent; and producing lube base oil using unconverted oil not having passed through the adsorption step in the unconverted oil separated in the separation step, and unconverted oil in which polynuclear aromatics are removed through the adsorption step.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
