According to an embodiment of the present invention, an Internet of things-based smart flowerpot comprises: an electronic tag attached to one surface of a container in which a plant is planted by storing cultivation soil, and storing unique identification information on the plant; a sensor unit including at least one sensor for measuring state information including at least one among a temperature, humidity, solar radiation quantity, air pollution degree, and moisture content of the cultivation soil; a tag reader for reading the unique identification information stored in the electronic tag; a wireless communications unit for transmitting the unique identification information read by the tag reader to a user terminal by wirelessly communicating with the user terminal, and receiving cultivation information on the plant from the user terminal in response to the unique identification information; and a control unit for comparing the cultivation information with the state information, and providing information necessary for growth of the plant as alarms based on the comparison result.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
