The present invention relates to a composition comprising coenzyme Q10 or derivatives thereof for inhibiting or alleviating side effects of cytotoxicity induced by calcineurin inhibitors and, more specifically, to a composition comprising coenzyme Q10 or derivatives thereof as active ingredients for inhibiting or alleviating side effects of fibrosis or apoptosis induced by tacrolimus or cyclosporine. The composition according to the present invention can be usefully used for developing medicines for preventing or alleviating cytotoxicity in kidney induced by calcineurin inhibitors, especially tacrolimus.
