According to an embodiment of the present invention, a fault diagnosis system for an electronic device comprises: a multi-tap having a sensor for detecting an operation of a detection target electronic device electrically connected to a plurality of electronic devices, a communication module for sending a detection signal detected by the sensor to the outside, and a control module for controlling an operation state of the detection target electronic device to be in an initial state when diagnosing a fault of a gateway; a database server for storing a reference pattern by stacking current data and voltage data in a normal operation state of the plurality of electronic devices for each type, recognizing the type of the detection target electronic device from the detection signal by being connected to the communication module, and sending the reference pattern of the recognized detection target electronic device to the gateway; and the gateway connected to the database server with the communication module, and performing a fault diagnosis of the detection target electronic device. Therefore, the fault diagnosis system for an electronic device can prevent data information on the electronic device from being provided to the outside.
