The present invention relates to a system for compensating for the thermal equilibrium of inter-seasonal geothermal energy by using a heat pump of an air heat source having a reverse circulation operation mode and a control method thereof. After recovering the geothermal heat included in geothermal water as heat for a heating or cooling operation by a geothermal heat pump, a separate heat pump for an air heat source is used to prevent a rise or drop in the geothermal heat, thereby compensating to maintain the initial geothermal temperature. Even when the operation of the geothermal heat pump stops, the heat pump for the air heat source can be used to control the reverse circulation operation of the geothermal water to prevent the drop or rise in the geothermal heat and compensate to maintain the initial geothermal temperature, thereby increasing the efficiency of the geothermal heat pump. A hybrid system executing the heating or cooling operation by using the geothermal heat has the heat pump for the air heat source installed between a geothermal heat exchanger and the geothermal heat pump to provide a reverse circulation mode even while the operation stops or when the geothermal heat pump reaches a load corresponding to a supply demand side and executes a compensation operation for maintaining the thermal equilibrium of the geothermal heat continuously, thereby reaching the needed geothermal heat temperature quickly. Accordingly, the apparatus can maintain the initial performance efficiency without decreasing the efficiency of the geothermal heat pump due to a re-operation.
