The present invention relates to a method for managing a hospital system based on virtual card information and an apparatus using the method. The hospital system management apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a medical care information management unit for generating medical care identification information for managing the medical care information in accordance with the medical care information input corresponding to the patient information when the patient information is registered; a payment information management unit for generating encrypted card information which can be decrypted by a server in accordance with the payment means input for the service identification information; and a matching management module for requesting the virtual card information from the server based on the encrypted card information and the medical care identification information, acquiring the virtual card information received from the server, and storing and managing the virtual card information and the medical care identification information in a matching manner, wherein the payment information management unit processes the payment history update management of the medical care information corresponding to the medical care identification information by using the virtual card information. Thus, it is possible to prevent personal information from being leaked because the actual card information is not stored, and it is possible to settle the virtual card information based on a separate IC card-supported terminal or without additional authentication, thereby reducing the infrastructure installation cost and authentication cost of the hospital management system.
