The present invention relates to a method to estimate a caloric value of torrefaction biomass using a color difference measurement method, capable of reducing time and expenses required to measure a caloric value. According to the present invention, the method comprises: a step of processing and drying woody biomass; a step of inserting the woody biomass into a torrefaction reactor, inserting nitrogen gas to remove oxygen and steam when an internal temperature of the reactor is approximately 100C, and then thermally processing the woody biomass at 200-300C for 15-60 minutes under an inert condition to perform torrefaction; and a step of pulverizing the biomass, pressing acquired wood powder to make a disk in order to measure a color difference between an original woody biomass and the torrefaction biomass, and measuring the disk with a colorimeter.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
