Disclosed are a method and a system for controlling a power save mode based on delay quality and traffic load for a wireless mesh network. In a wireless mesh network that transmits and receives a data packet between a plurality of mesh nodes, a method for controlling a power save mode of each of the mesh nodes comprises the steps of: obtaining service request delay information, on the basis of a service type of the data packet; determining a class of a traffic, on the basis of the service request delay information; storing the data packet in a buffer corresponding to the determined class, of buffers respectively corresponding to a plurality of classes; and determining a power save mode, on the basis of traffic load information obtained by transmitting the data packet stored in the buffer.
