Provided are a decarburization apparatus and a decarburization method using the same, intended to retrieve magnesia by combusting carbon from refractories containing carbon and magnesia. According to the present invention, the decarburization apparatus comprises: an upper portion-opened container (10); a distribution space (20) sectioning a space using a barrier (21) by diving the container (10); an oxygen supply hole (30) supplying oxygen from an external liquid oxygen barrel (31) into each space of the distribution space (20); and an oxygen supply nozzle (40) supplying high purity oxygen, supplied into the distribution space (20), into an upper portion of the container (10).
