Methods and apparatus for extractive distillation using the addition of steam to the extractive distillation column from a reboiler are disclosed herein. The devices include an extractive distillation column, a reboiler (e.g., a kettle boiler) connected to the extractive column, and a steam input line. The steam input line is connected to the inner steam jetting device of the reboiler. Methods of using the devices to perform the extractive distillation of the hydrocarbon feed stream are also disclosed herein.
