The present invention relates to a celestial navigation of a satellite using a star sensor and an earth sensor, configured to determine an observation angle, the altitude of a satellite, and the position of the satellite on the orbit with respect to a local horizontal plane of each of the three different stars required for a celestial navigation through the star sensor and the earth sensor. Accordingly, the present invention is able to determine the position of the satellite by using information collected through the star sensor and the earth sensor, which are attitude sensors mainly mounted on satellites. Since such an attitude sensor is able to find its position on the orbit without a radar tracking system based on a base station or without indirect position information of other nearby satellites, such as GPS, a moon or planet exploration satellite is able to advantageously apply the attitude sensor in performing an autonomous navigation for efficient and precise mission completion.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
