A power generation system for powering a three-phase grid from a power generation unit via three AC terminals is disclosed. The system includes a relay device that separates the system from the grid by three or more relays. The three relays each include two switching contacts operated by control coils and corresponding control coils, respectively. Each AC terminal is coupled to the grid through a first switching contact and a second switching contact, wherein a first switching contact and a second switching contact are assigned to different ones of the relays. Also disclosed is an inverter comprising a relay device and a relay device.
