The apparatus for checking the security of big data according to the present invention includes a security information collecting unit for receiving at least one of security information and check setting information corresponding to a big data system from a client for checking the security of big data, a security check executing unit for executing the security check of the big data system by comparing at least one of the check setting information and a security policy corresponding to the big data system with the security information, and a check result analyzing unit which analyzes the result of the security check of the big data system. Accordingly, the present invention can protect the big data system against hacking, virus, attacks, etc.
