The present invention relates to functional activated carbon applying a functional group to activated carbon used in a water treatment process and, more specifically, to activated carbon for removing microcystin, 2-MIB and geosmin and a removal method thereof. The activated carbon is mixed with: 40 to 60 wt% of the first activated carbon in which the size of pores applied with an acid functional group, a base functional group and a positive ion functional group is 3 to 20 nm, and the capacity of pores is 0.3 m^3/g or more while the specific surface area is 400 to 1,000 m^2/g; and 60 to 40 wt% of the second activated carbon in which the size of pores is 0.4 to 1.8 nm, and the capacity of pores is 0.3 ml/g or more while the specific surface area is 1,000 to 1,600 m^2/g.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
