The present invention relates to a Wi-Fi backscatter system and a backscatter communication method using the same. According to the present invention, the communication method using a Wi-Fi backscatter system including a tag and a reader individually with two antennas includes the steps of: transmitting a wireless packet generated in a first frequency band to the tag through a transmission antenna from the reader; converting, by the tag, the wireless packet received through the reception antenna to be in a second frequency band and adding the information of the tag to the converted wireless packet in the converted second frequency band to backscatter the wireless packet to the reader through the transmission antenna; and receiving the signal backscattered from the tag to the reader through the reception antenna. The Wi-Fi backscatter system can receive the backscattering information from the tag and transmit the wireless packet to the tag from the reader when the reader functions as an access point in an environment making the use of access points difficult, thereby reducing the power consumption of the tag and reducing the complexity and size of the tag.
