The present invention relates to a flux for submerged arc welding that reduces the generation of diffusible hydrogen and a method of manufacturing the flux. More particularly, the present invention relates to a flux for use in submerged arc welding, which comprises water glass, zirconium propoxide, tetraethylorthosilicate orthosilicate) and titanium dioxide (TiO₂) Containing water-resistant tackifier and a process for producing the same.The flux for submerged arc welding according to the present invention can exhibit excellent moisture absorption properties by including point-settled water with improved water resistance, and can produce a weld metal with reduced diffusible hydrogen by using the flux for welding. It is possible to significantly reduce defects due to cracks in the welded portion.
