The present invention relates to a Myoviridae bacteriophage Esc-COP-9 (access number: KCTC 13131BP), which is isolated from nature, has a dielectric substance represented by sequence number 1, and is capable of specifically killing Escherichia coli. The present invention further relates to a method for preventing and treating infection by pathogenic Escherichia coli using a composition containing the same as an active ingredient.
