A method for determining the level of cell death in chronic diseases, in physiological conditions (pregnancy) and in the chronic effect of adverse environmental factors on the human body, which consists in determining the content of the GC-rich genome sequence (GC-DNA) in the composition of circulating extracellular DNA in peripheral blood plasma, characterized in that the content of the GC-rich genome sequence - a fragment of the transcribed region of the human ribosomal repeat - in the composition of isolated extracellular DNA about is determined by the method of non-radioactive quantitative hybridization, and if a certain repeat content is more than 2 times higher than its content in cellular (genomic) DNA, then we conclude that there is a chronic process in the body that is accompanied by increased cell death.
