FIELD: agriculture.SUBSTANCE: method of growing coniferous species seedlings with the closed root system comprises preparing the substrate of peat with additives, filling the containers with the substrate, sowing seeds in the containers filled with substrate, mulching, and care while growing. Ground felling residues of goat willow Salix caprea in the form of particles with the size less than 3 mm are additionally used as an additive in obtaining the substrate, wherein their mass share in the substrate is from 8 to 17% in the air-dry state.EFFECT: increasing the substrate ecological safety and the quality of the seedlings grown in terms of their height.
