FIELD: electricity.;SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in electric power engineering to limit overhead transmission lines wires icing and oscillations. Arrester consists of damping element (1), loads (2) and clamp (3), which is piece of zinc-plated steel rope, consisting of set of wires in amount of 16÷30 pcs. Loads (2) are made in form of bent rods or round tubes and rigidly fixed on damping element (1) ends, and clamp (3) is fixed on damping element (1) and is connected to overhead transmission line wire (4). At loads (2) straight segments (5) ends thickenings (6) are made in form of cylindrical, or spherical, or cone-shaped half-bushings, which are integrated with loads (2) sections (5) or with possibility of disconnection from them, and are located butt-to-butt by horizontal direction relative to each other or at minimum distance (40 mm) from each other. Detachable half-bushings connection (6) with loads (2) sections (5) ends can be implemented by threaded connection (7). Loads (2) are selected identical or different by weight within range of values of 0.6÷3.5 kg and are arranged symmetrically on equal or different distance, measured from their bending point (8) to transverse axis (9) passing by clamp (3) center. Damping element (1) steel cable zinc-plated wires lay pitch is selected within 30÷75 mm for wires with diameter of 9.1 mm, 40÷80 mm for wires with diameter 11 mm, 50÷100 mm for wires with diameter 13 mm.;EFFECT: higher efficiency of oscillations damping in wide frequency range.;4 cl, 1 dwg
