FIELD: microbiology.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to industrial microbiology. Bacterial strain Desulfovibrio sp. VK-9 has high resistance to high concentrations of copper ions (up to 125 mg/l), nickel ions (up to 250 mg/l), cobalt ions (up to 350 mg/l) and cadmium ions (up to 60 mg/l) and can be used for purification of acidic wastewater from machine building, instrument-making, electrical, mining enterprises, electroplating industries, as well as for acidic mine water purification from high concentrations of copper ions and other heavy metals.
