Method is implemented in radio network controller, RNC, and comprises stages of: evaluating geometry for UE; mode selection for UE based on estimated geometry, wherein mode represents either plurality of cells switching mode, or plurality of cells aggregation mode; and configuration of selected mode for UE. When using UE geometry for mode selection selected is most suitable mode relative to functional characteristics, such as channel capacity.
