FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: method and device for physical modeling the dynamic states of radiation background, characterized in changing the radiation background near the stationarily located ionizing radiation detector by one or more ionizing radiation source, which performs forward-backward motion with a dwell. The forward motion to the ionizing radiation detector is performed at the speed proportional to the actually recorded wind/flow speed in the zone controlled by the ionizing radiation detector, the dwell time of each ionizing radiation source is determined according to the predetermined radiation background changing parameters, and the backward motion to the initial state of the ionizing radiation sources is performed both at the speed proportional to the actually recorded wind/flow speed in the zone controlled by the ionizing radiation detector, or at the rate, which is determined according to the predetermined radiation background changing parameters.;EFFECT: recreating conditions of the radiation background change due to the radioactive cloud passage or discharge in the zone controlled by the stationarily located ionizing radiation detector of the radiation monitoring system.;3 cl 4 dwg
