FIELD: electricity.;SUBSTANCE: method for determining the remoteness of the short-circuit of the contact network is that at the moment of a short circuit the values of the currents (IA, IB), voltages (UA, UB) and phase angles (ϕA, ϕB) therebetween are measured at adjacent substations. Additional phase angles (ψA, ψB) are determined, using the parameters of the no-load voltage (UA0, UB0) and of resistances (XnA, XnB). By means of implementing the computational algorithms, additional modules () and arguments () of the substitution circuit resistances, the current modulus (IK) and the current argument (γK) in the short circuit location are found. Then the distances from substation A to the short circuit location are determined.;EFFECT: increasing the accuracy and simplifying the method for determining the remoteness of a short circuit.;2 cl, 3 dwg
