FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: set of templates for controlling the acceptable size of shell-shaped defects on the surface of castings consists of eight metal bars used as templates. The metal bars are assembled in a bundle by means of a ring and through holes. Through holes are made perpendicular to the surface of the flats at the ends of the rods. The ends of the metal rods on the working side are flat. The diameters of the working surfaces of metal rods are from 1 mm to 8 mm. The diameter of each subsequent rod is 1 mm more than the previous one. On the lateral surface of each metal bar, a readout is made for marking, indicating the diameter of the working surface.;EFFECT: set of templates represents a simple construction and is easy to use.
