FIELD: pharmacology.;SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is claimed that can be used for production of antibacterial dimethylvancomycin sulfate antibiotic, effective for treatment of infections caused by gram-positive pathogens, including methicillin-resistant and anaerobic ones. Amycolatopsis orientalis strain, the producer of dimethylvancomycin deposited in VKPM under the registration number VKPM As-1984, and a method fordimethylvancomycin production are proposed. The method for dimethylvancomycin preparation involves cultivation of the Amycolatopsis orientalis strain VKPM-As-1984, antibiotic sorption from the native solution on the KB-2 (Na⁺) cation exchange, antibiotic desorption, eluate neutralisation with the KU-2-20 (H⁺) cation exchanger and antibiotic sorption (pH 6.8) on Amberlite CG-25 (NH₄⁺) followed by elution of dimethyl vancomycin (0.05-0.3) n. with ammonia solution.
