Modular modular system for multi-MW wind turbine gearboxes

The invention is a modular construction system for wind power transmissions. The modular system is based on a designed as a "medium-fast drive train" planetary gearbox with two gear ratios, externally toothed large sun gear on the drive shaft, and multiple load branching over outer planets. Each two load branches are combined to form an output shaft. They form a "satellite". Each satellite has its own small generator. The power flow in a satellite is divided in the axial direction into two symmetrical branches. The gearbox is designed so that up to six satellites can be docked to the input sun gear, equivalent to a 12-fold load split. Each satellite has a mass of less than eight tons. The expansion potential of a gearbox according to the invention ranges from 4 MW with two satellites to theoretically 18 MW with six satellites and two to six 2 MW or 3 MW generators each. The satellites and generators of all stages are the same. Both the satellites and the sun gear can be exchanged onboard and moved with the on-board crane.
