The invention provides an antenna device (10; 100) for receiving electromagnetic waves and a method for operating an antenna device. The antenna device (10; 100) is formed with: a carrier (20); at least one receiving antenna means (30) disposed on an outer side (22) of the carrier (20) for receiving electromagnetic waves having a first polarization (50); at least one repolarisation device (40; 40 ') which is arranged on the outside (22) of the carrier (20) and which is designed to impinge on the repolarisation device (40; 40') electromagnetic waves having the first polarization (50) as to re-emit electromagnetic waves having a second polarization (52); and filter means (60) disposed on the outside (22) of the carrier (20) and adapted to absorb electromagnetic waves with the second polarization (52).
