Power system with dynamic load distribution

Provided is a power system (12) for a seagoing or oil rig (10). The power system may include a plurality of power sources (22), at least one power consumer (14) and an input device (20) configured to generate a signal indicative of a desired output. The power system may also include a load manager (24) associated with the at least one power consumer and configured to generate a power request for the plurality of power sources based on the signal and an actual output of the power consumer, and a controller (26). The controller may be configured to determine a plurality of power targets for the plurality of power sources, determine one priority for the plurality of power targets, query each of the plurality of power sources for at least one power map corresponding to each power target, and selectively power the power request distribute each of the plurality of power sources based on the at least one performance map and based on the determined priority.
