For securing of building interiors from the ingress of water and sludge through openings in buildings a device is proposed, which with an inflatable flat body in the inflated state sealingly closes the opening in the building. The inflatable body is by a mat with a gas - and watertight outer shell and a reinforced formed integral. The building opening is provided with a guide profile for receiving the mat is provided at their outer edges. The mat is not in the inflated state in the guide profile and is movable in the inflated state, at their outer edges in the guide profile by the engagement of their outer hull to the inner surfaces of the guide profile of the building and covers at least largely taken up in a watertight manner.
