The present invention relates to the security of an execution environment, in particular the java card, against attacks such as confusion. The memory zones store the data of various types (integer or reference) handled by the java bytecode. It is associated with each data to be stored in a memory area, a type information representative of the type of this data, for example by adding a bit to the binary representation of the data stored, bit whose value and the position in the binary representation depending respectively on the type of the data and of the storage memory area.
