The invention relates mainly to a rotary electric machine (10), comprising: - a rotor (12) connected for rotation to a shaft (13), - a stator (11) comprising a winding, and - monitoring means (51) for monitoring an angular position of said rotor (12) these monitoring means comprising at least a sensor (52) and a magnetic target (55) fixed to a target bearer (57), - characterized in that said target bearer (57) is mounted on said shaft (13) and in that said magnetic target (55) is fixed to an internal face of said target bearer (57) which faces toward said shaft (13) of said electric machine (10).
