The invention relates to a device (1) for quantifying a gaseous entity flow in a porous medium (2), the gaseous entity being water vapor and the device comprising: - a membrane (8) permeable to the gaseous entity; first and second layers (10a, 10b) arranged on either side of the membrane (8) and made of a material having a physical characteristic varying with the gaseous substance content within these layers; means (16a, 16b) delivering a value (Cp1) of the physical characteristic within the layer (10a), as well as a value (Cp2) of the physical characteristic in the layer (10b); and - a calculation module (20) configured to determine from the values (Cp1, Cp2) gaseous entity contents (θ1, θ2) within the layers (10a, 10b), and to determine the gaseous entity flow (J) from the relation J = Dp (θ1 - θ2) / e.
