Systems, methods, and computer program products that determine performance for inventory units that have a limited lifespan, such as seats on a flight. A return for future seat sales is determined based on a weighted average price for used tickets and unused tickets on flights departing in the future. To increase the volume of data on which performance is based, simulated reservation records are generated based on the expected demand for flights while a reservation window is open. Proxy tickets are then generated for simulated booking records and for reservation records that have not yet been confirmed. These proxy tickets are stored in a proxy ticket database, and the database is periodically updated to reflect changes in available inventory, pricing, and booking context. Proxy ticket prices are then used to enrich the data of confirmed tickets and tickets consumed to produce the return.
