A versatile American / French short-head valve adapter (100) has a head (10) having an end in which a chamber (111) is provided and a lateral side in which a through hole (112) is provided, a rotating drum (20) disposed in the chamber (111) and having a hollow space (21) provided therein, and a formed opening (22) in an outer surface thereof and comprising a pressure portion (23) arranged adjacent an end of the opening (22), an air guide hole (24) provided in one end of the rotary drum (20) and communicating with the hollow compartment (21), the rotary drum (20) being adapted to rotate between an inoperative position and an active position, a sinking element (30) housed in the hollow compartment (21) and having an end in which a receiving hole (31) is provided and an outer wall in which a d-hole 'actuation (32 ) is arranged, an elastic compression ring (40) received in the through hole (112), and a push rod unit (50) movable between a so-called American position and a so-called French position.
