Material for plastic scintillation measurement comprising: - a polymeric matrix; and a primary fluorophore incorporated in the polymer matrix and composed of N- (2-ethylhexyl) carbazole, the monomeric form of N- (2-ethylhexyl) carbazole being spontaneously in physico-chemical equilibrium with the exciplex form. A plastic scintillator can be made in a simplified manner with the material of the invention, while having optimized properties for plastic scintillation measurement. The invention also relates to the method of manufacturing the material, a workpiece comprising the material and the associated measuring device, as well as the plastic scintillation measuring method using the material.
